Overview

From 2017 to 2019, I worked at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) in Toronto. RBC is a multinational financial services company that is also the largest bank in Canada in terms of market capitalization and presence. The bank serves over 16 million clients and employs over 80,000 individuals globally.

RBC has a strong focus on transforming the role of technology in daily customer experiences and delivering the lifestyle customers expect. I have worked on a wide range of projects, cultivated dynamic skills, and collaborated with multiple teams while delivering consistent value to the business, it's clients and the community.

The nature of the work is confidential, however, here is a high-level overview of some of my work. If you would like to learn more about my time and experience at RBC, please feel free to reach out.

POC projects

Toronto Innovation Lab, 2018
Worked on various proof of concept (POC) endeavors using cutting-edge immersive technology such as ML enabled document recognition, AI activated voice technology, and blockchain methodology to integrate our banking system with multiple lines of business units, divisions and stakeholders. Project input ranged from a few weeks to a few months. My bandwidth consisted of working on a few POC projects at the same time.

Digital platform for dealers

Promoted to the Auto Finance team to take the digital platform from POC stage, to a region-specific commercial launch which subsequently went to nationwide adoption

  • Conducted user testing and reviewed individual dealer satisfaction

Assessor and mentor

RBC Amplify Program, 2018 - 2019
During my time at RBC, I discovered my passion for mentoring and coaching individuals and to build a design-centric community within the organization. This led me to help hire design interns to the team to bring fresh perspectives, organize designers’ lunches and meetings to facilitate a more inclusive environment. In 2018 to 2019, I supported the RBC Amplify Program as a UX designer. You can learn more about the program here
